FAQ 2
Sigma focuses on three vertically integrated areas of system development to make a complete haptic motion system.
We closely control the Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineering and their proper integration to ensure optimal signal processing or what we call Motion Integrity.
Mechanically this means engineering and actually building our actuators in-house from billet aluminum, similarly machining solid 2" steel pistons and coating them with a slippery electroless coating process, and using over-sized ball screws and components. We further combine these actuators with premium American made motors and EMI free power units that offer 3x the performance for their relative size.
The actuators are then paired with our in-house Synapse motion controller, where most of the signal processing happens in our embedded Texas Instruments real-time controller running over an ethernet connection for best stability and compatibility.
